From 1 May 2019, non-profit organisations within ten miles of Valencia's Heathfield landfill site in Devon can once again apply for funding to the Landfill Communities Fund, through Valencia Communities Fund.
This is in response to the re-opening of the Heathfield landfill site to high-level waste.
The landfill site near Newton Abbot closed its gates to waste in January 2016. However, the site is to reopen due to landfill tonnages in the area not decreasing as quickly as anticipated, coupled with the imminent closure of Broadpath landfill site near Uffculme.
Eligible applications will soon be able to apply for up to £100,000 from Valencia Communities Fund.
