In 2022, the Club was forced to relocate due to flood prevention works in the River Otter valley. The old club was frequently flooded so, with compensation from the Environment Agency, some European funding and gifting of the new site by Clinton Devon Estates, the club relocated and was able to fund a new clubhouse and two new pitches. Unfortunately, increases in materials and construction costs threw the project off budget, jeopardising the inclusion of many other elements, including the kitchen, which was crucial to the functioning of the new clubhouse as a source of income for many other elements.
The club put forward an application to Valencia Communities Fund for £50,000 for funding towards the kitchen and this was granted.
The spectacular building is complete and operational. The new commercial kitchen is the beating heart of the new restaurant ‘The Holt’, and it is already attracting lots of new bookings such as parties, walkers and many people who have never been to a cricket club before, just dropping in for coffee and cake.
