Chapelton Bowling Club, South Lanarkshire

Chapelton Bowling Club is a well-used facility in the picturesque Village of Chapelton. Originally set up in 1989 with the help of the Community Council.

The latest chapter in the club's history involved the renovation of the green and the clubhouse, originally built from fund-raising in 1957. Drawing heavily on local expertise, the club had already installed an extended green, engineered with improved drainage and the lastest techniques to ensure a smooth, easy-to-maintain surface, before applying to Valencia Communities Fund for help to build their new clubhouse.

The new facility was designed with the community in mind. The vision was for a multi-use facility that allowed community events to take place around the club's own activiites. The resulting building is light, modern and spacious, with a kitchen and toilet facilites complementing the main room that looks out over the green and the stunning landscape beyond.
