Holy Trinity is a striking Grade-II listed village church of unusual octagonal design. It stands in a prominent position in Blackford village. The exterior paintwork had deteriorated and showed blackened discolouration. Additionally high-level guttering and lead flashings had become detached allowing damp penetration.
Valencia Communities Fund awarded £19,786 to this project, which entailed treating walls with a fungicide and repainting the whole of the exterior of the church in a modern breathable paint. Guttering and flashings were also repaired.
“The finished job looks stunning and would not have been completed without Valencia Communities Fund support.” David Sisson, Holy Trinity, Blackford. PCC
