Lochview Family Golf Centre, North Lanarkshire

Scotland and golf. With the historical Old Course at St. Andrew's to Scotland's most famous golfing export, Colin Montgomerie, Scotland is considered the home of golf the world over.

Previously the past time of a select elite, golf is becoming more and more accesible to a wider range of people. Helping to bring golf to the masses is Lochview Family Golf Centre, a state-of-the-art amenity that aims to provide quality, affordable golf to as many people as possible. Born from the former Coatbridge driving range, with help from Valencia Communities Fund, Lochview is a community project focusing on inclusion and outreach. Part of their focus is youth and girls' teams, with successes including the introduction of the sport to every 11-year old in the area as well as a huge interest in the sport by the female population.

Golfers wishing to practise their swing can visit the new driving range, which includes automatic ball retrieval and a permanent stock of 10,000 balls! And for those rainy days there is a new golf simulator, complete with 36 real-life courses, that can also be used to analyse swing to perfect that drive.

But what if you don't play golf? Lochview also utilises its stunning setting by organising jogging sessions and "buggy-fit" sessions around the beautiful grounds of the golf course.
