Morden Hall Park

In March 2016, Valencia Communities Fund awarded £50,000 to National Trust to improve access to the wetland area of Morden Hall Park.

Before the boardwalk was installed, visitors were faced with a muddy track, barely usable in the winter. The installation of the boardwalk has provided a convenient route through the park as well as a resource for local schools and community groups to get closer to the wetland and learn about the amazing biodiversity it supports.

The boardwalk includes a dipping platform and a trail with rubbing plates featuring the flora and fauna of the wetlands, giving visitors an interactive element to complement the stunning views found in the park.

Liz Lowrey of the National Trust, said "Without the grant from Valencia Communities Fund, we would not have been able to achieve our vision. We have received a lot of positive feedback from park users."
