A dilapidated but much-loved community hub in the middle of Uffculme was given a £250,000 funding boost by Valencia Communities Fund in 2015.
Run by the nearby St. Mary's Church, the facility caters to a wide range of user groups, from festive celebrations to arts and crafts, yout cafe, coffee mornings and ad hoc meetings.
prior to the refurbishment, the facility was showing signs of wear and damp, and a comprehensive programme of repairs was required to make the building fit for purpose again and attract new users.
The award from the Landfill Communities Fund as well as extensive local fundraising means there is now an amenity that is comfortable and well-equipped for its users.
