Wellow Village Hall was built in 1980 with the support of grants and local contributions on land donated by the Locke family.
The hall boasts a large car park, outside patio and large enclosed grass area.
Inside, however, things were a slightly different story, with the age of the facility just starting to tell.
Subsequently, Valencia Communities Fund awarded £24,000 to Wellow Village Hall Committee, allowing them to upgrade the central heating, flooring, sound system and install a DDA-compliant toilet.
This warmer, tidier and safer hall is an important community facility in Wellow, home to aerobics, art, history and lace-making groups.
